Class Rules for Math

1.  Bring all materials to class everyday.  Materials include book, paper, pencil and calculator.
I do have a bin to keep calculators in the classroom if you choose to do so.

2.  Once the bell has sounded, class begins.  There is no talking while I am talking.  This includes turning around to your neighbor.

3.  There is absolutly no throwing of anything in my room.  Even if you think you are Michael Jordan, you cannot toss paper in the basket.  You must get up and throw anything away.  If caught, you WILL receive an FYI.

4.  I allow gum and water.  If I find gum anywhere but in your mouth, there will be no more in the classroom.

5.  You may not leave the room for any reason.  I will allow you to use the bathroom once every nine weeks.  After that, it must be a true emergency.  There is so much construction going on that it is best if you are in my classroom.
So make sure you have all needed supplies and have gone to the bathroom or gotten a drink of water between classes.  Of course, if you are sick, you may ask to see the nurse.  Make sure you sign in and out of the log before you leave for any reason.  This includes if I ask you do run an errand.

5.  Zeros are not an option this year.  If you do not do your daily work, you will NOT have any free time on Fridays.
If all of the work is done for the week, you will be able to have about 20 minutes to play games like math bingo, math scrabble, or card games.

6.  I will be contacting parents concerning any behavior not acceptable in my room, and this includes not doing classwork.

7.  Since our classes are now 75 minutes, I am giving you ample time to finish your assignments in class.  If you have homework, it is because you did not use your time wisely.

8.  Do not write on desks, walls, or posters.

9.  Do not take anything that does not belong to you.  This includes items off my desk, off of another student's desk, or the room.  If you wish to borrow something, please ask.

10.  WHEN ANOTHER ADULT IS IN THE ROOM, YOU ARE TO BE QUIET.  IT IS DIFFICULT TO HAVE A CONVERSATION WITH ANOTHER PERSON WHEN STUDENTS ARE TALKING.  YOU WILL RECEIVE AN FYI FOR BREAKING THIS RULE.
