My name is Donna Boatwright.  I teach 8th grade math and 7th grade science.  This is my second year at JBHS.  Before that I taught one year at Springfield Middle School.  I previously taught 7th and 8th grade math.

I am an "Army Brat".  My father served 20 plus years in the Army.  I had 18 addresses in as many years.  I have lived in several states and in Germany for 9 years.  I have visited France, Italy and Spain.  I love to talk to my students about my adventures.  I actually went to three schools in the 7th grade.  I started in Texas, moved to Massachusetts, and ended my 7th grade year in Germany.  I think this is one defining reason for choosing to teach middle school.

I have been married to my husband, Tom, for almost 24 years.  We have one daughter, Kasey, who is in the 6th grade at JBES.  We moved to Adams about 5 years ago.  We were looking for a nice, quiet setting to raise our child.  We thought this area was perfect.

I went back to school in my forties to finish my education.  I graduated with my Bachelors Degree in May 2006.  I am certified to teach any academic subject in grades 5-8.

I love to teach.  Some say it is because I love to talk and what better way to talk all day.  I love this age group.  Yes, the students are changing and you never know what will work from one day to the next, but that is what makes my job so interesting.  Every hour of everyday is different.  I can never say I am bored.
