About the Curriculum Guides
Teachers and Principals,
The purpose of the Robertson County Curriculum Guide for Educators is to identify points of mastery for each of the Tennessee State Curriculum Standards. These standards are targeted within suggested grading periods for when mastery should be achieved. Content and skills leading to mastery may be introduced earlier than the suggested mastery period, and may need to be reinforced throughout the year.
The practice of pre and post assessment is highly recommended, and will assist in determining the specific content and skills, and the sequencing of this information necessary to master each standard. Use of this guide will also serve to focus instruction on the content and skills that will be assessed at the state level with both norm and criterion referenced tests.
Schools are encouraged to use this document to assist in grade level planning and promoting cross curricula planning. Ensuring that these standards are addressed will eliminate gaps and overlaps in the curricula at each grade level, and hopefully lead to an increase in student achievement.
Respectfully,
The Robertson County Board of Education
