SHS GOVERNMENT CLUB

The Government Club offers two major activities: the American Bar Association Mock Trial competition and the YMCA Youth in Government (YIG) program. Students on the SHS Mock Trial team act as lawyers and witnesses as they compete to win the verdict in a model case. Through the YIG program, students "become the government" as they participate in a model House of Representatives, Senate, and Supreme Court. Any student in grades 9-12 who is interested in political and legal issues is invited to join the Government Club.
