How do I get a SiteMaker web site?
Any teacher or organization that is part of Robertson County Schools can have a web site hosted on our web server by SiteMaker.
Requesting a site
Getting a web site started in SiteMaker is as simple as asking for it. To get the ball rolling please use the email contacts found at www.rcstn.net/gvc.sitemaker or call the Technology Department (382-2318). The tech coach at your school can help you with this. Your request should include the following information:
- your name
- your email address
- the school you are affiliated with
- and how you are affiliated with that school (e.g. you teach there, you sponsor a club, you are a PTO officer, etc.).
We encourage student involvement in publishing information to our web sites as long as they are under adult supervision. To that end, only school system personnel and officers of parent groups should request web sites. You may also want to request more than one site if your responsibilities include things like sponsoring a club, etc.
What to expect
When a new site is created for you in SiteMaker you will get one or two emails from our SiteMaker server.
New account announcement
If you have never before had a SiteMaker account, SiteMaker will send you an email informing you that your account has been created and what your password is.
Your full email address is your SiteMaker user name. When your account is created SiteMaker will generate a random password for you. The email you will receive will contain a link to a web page that allows you to reset this password to something easier to remember.
New site announcement
The other email you will get is one informing you that your new site has been created. This email contains a link that allows you to configure your site and a link to your site’s home page.
