Editors and Contributors
SiteMaker allows you to add users to your site who have limited access to editing content to your site. This is not like making someone a co-owner of your site as these users only have editing access to Text/Image sections and Data Access Sections. This is useful if you want to allow some students to have limited editing access to a site. The next few pages describe how this works for Text/Image sections. See the information on Data Tables to learn how to learn how to manage this for Data Access sections.
To get started using this feature for Text/Image Sections there are a few things you need to set up.
Access Groups
SiteMaker does not create any special access groups for editors or contributors. You will need to create them as you need them. You may want to only create a group for editor, or a group for contributor, or both. Or you may want groups for different sets of editors and/or contributors.
Assigning Privileges
Once you have set up the appropriate access groups you need to open the properties for each Text/Image section you wish to allow others to edit and give them access to that section. This is where you define which group (or groups) can edit that section and which group (or groups) can contribute to that section. Again, this is a per section setting.

Login/Logout Links
The users you allow to edit or contribute to your site never get to log in to the Main Configuration Page of your site. They do all their work from the public side of your site. Because of this you probably need to turn on the ligin/logout links on your site. This is done from the Overall Appearance page. This makes it easy for them to log in and get to editingt tools for Text/Image pages.
