Version Management

You cannot manage versions until you have created more than one version of a page. When theis is done you will see a Versions link on the Main Configuration Page just under the Contents and Properties links for that section. Click this link to manage the versions of the section.

When you are editing the contents of a section there is a link at the bottom of the Edit Contents page to do the same thing. It appears just below the version information for that page.

Managing versions is similar to managing sections.

Here is a description of the tools available to you:

• The version listing can be resorted using the menu above the listing of versions.
• The version number column shows the creation order of the versions. The first version listed will always be the current version. This is the version of the page that is returned when the page is called up. Click the make current link of any version to change out which version is the current one.
  
• The name and details column shows some basic information about each version. Clicking the name will preview the version in a new browser window.
• The locked column shows the locked status for each version and allows you to change that status. Locked versions cannot be edited.
• The modify column has three links for each version:
  • Edit opens the version so you can edit its contents. From here you can decide to save as a new version if you wish.
  • Edit as a new version opens a copy of the version for you to edit. This creates a new version on the fly.
  • Properties allows you to edit the properties of a version where you can change the name of the version, make it he current version, or lock it to prevent editing (see screen shot below).
• The delete column provides a checkbox for each version (except the current version). Check each version you wish to delete and click the "Delete Selected Versions" button above the list.
