General Information
Our school system operates under the directrion of a six-member school board and a director of schools. Board members are elected by popular vote in county elections and serve staggered four-year terms. The director of schools, who oversees the daily operations of the district, is appointed by the board.
Primary Function
The primary function of the school board is to develop policies and guidelines for the effective operation of the schools. These policies are available for inspection at the board's office, at each of our schools, and on the Board Policy web site.
Regular Sessions
Regular meetings are held every second Monday of each month at the board's administrative office located at 800 M.S. Couts Blvd, Springfield, TN 37172. School Board Meeting Dates
Special Called Meetings
When a board meeting date or location changes, or when a special meeting is called, notice will be posted on our board meeting webpage and the meeting will be added to our online calendar and mobile app.
