All-State Selections

This past fall, six Greenbrier High School students, including two freshmen,  auditioned for Middle Tennessee Vocal Association judges with the goal of earning a placement in their statewide MTVA choir.

Each of the six learned five difficult selections prior to their audition. Based on their performances with their learned pieces and sight-singing as well, these six ultimately were selected from thousands of students statewide for a coveted place in the choir.

In November, the group rehearsed for a full eight-hour day before performing a concert that evening to showcase their training and talent.  This performance opportunity represented months of preparation and discipline.

This is the first group of students in more than a decade from GHS that has earned this honor and they represented their school and community with professionalism and poise.

In addition to Mid-State honors, David Seay made All-State and will perform in concert this April at Opryland Hotel.  Cassidy, Morgan, and Christopher were chosen as All-State alternates.
