Parents and Students:
Virtual Live Help Sessions for using Microsoft Teams will be offered at various times throughout the month of January beginning January 4 at 11 am. Please visit www.rcstn.net/departments/technology/helpsessions for more information.

• Parents will be notified by the school that their child has been approved for the TEAMS option. Students’ books and personal materials are to be picked up by January 5th. Direction for pick up will be communicated by schools.

• On a weekly basis, instructional plans for the week -- schedule changes, learning objectives, required activities, assignments, links to resources and assessments, associated due dates, etc. -- will be communicated to students and families. Messaging may include newsletters posted on TEAMS and ClassDojo as well as phone calls.

• Students will follow a daily schedule approved by the school principal; this schedule along with other pertinent information will be communicated to families.
  • Every student will receive as much of his/her normal academic and arts instruction as possible. Schools may meet this need in different ways, including synchronous instruction, asynchronous videos, provision of extra resources, or using Microsoft Teams for related arts. Physical Education and music are required related arts courses and must be provided within the school year.
  • At a minimum, reading (both CKLA skills and knowledge at K-2 and guided reading at all grades), math, and RTI (if applicable) are to be scheduled. Social studies and science will be assigned as time allows.

• Students must log into Microsoft Teams at the start of each class. A student will be counted present upon check in each morning. Students will remain online until they are dismissed by the teacher (this could be for lunch, for recess, for independent practice, for a test, etc.).  Teachers will share the time for logging back in with students.

• Students not attending and engaging in TEAMS instruction daily may be required to attend school in person.
