Robertson County/APSU District Collaborative
Robertson County Schools and Austin Peay State University have partnered to offer students the opportunity to be a part of a unique collaborative initiative. This initiative incorporates both online and face-to-face course offerings taught by Austin Peay instructors at the Highland Crest campus in Springfield. Students enrolled in the collaborative earn college level credit while satisfying the Tennessee graduation requirements. Students are provided transportation to and from their respective schools, spending the first half of their day taking dual enrollment courses. Then, students return to their school for the remainder of the school day. This allows students to still participate in extracurricular activities like band, chorus, and athletics.
Rising juniors who enter and complete the program can earn their high school diploma and an Associates degree from Austin Peay at the same time. Seniors who meet the admission requirements may also enroll in the collaborative and earn both high school and college credits, but will not be able to earn the necessary credits to earn their Associates degree.
Juniors and seniors have the option to take dual enrollment classes in person or online at their school of zone with Volunteer State Community College. Students must meet the entrance requirements for the college or university.
