The transportation department provides safe, timely, service-oriented transportation in the most effective and efficient manner possible, while providing an atmosphere that enhances learning and safeguards district resources.  Students in kindergarten through 12th grade who reside in Robertson County are eligible to ride a bus.  Parents assume full responsibility of transportation for transfer students.  Transportation will not be provided for students not living within the school of residence zone.

The Transportation Department is responsible for:

  • Pupil Transportation: (Daily Trips, Field Trips, Athletic Trips and After school and Pre-K Routes)
  • Transportation works directly with Student Services overseeing all aspects of School and Transportation Safety.
  • Vehicle Maintenance (Annual DOS Inspections, PM Services, and other needed repairs)
  • Risk Management (Insurance - Transportation) (Worker's Comp and Vehicle Accident Reporting)
  • Transportation works works Directly with Student Resource Center in providing all resources to remove educational barriers for students identified as in need.
  • Drug and Alcohol/Random Testing: Workforce Essentials Inc. Manages the DOT Drug Testing Program for the RCS Pupil Transportation Department.  Their office is located at 299 10th Ave. E., Springfield, TN 37172 and office number is 615-384-1097

Note: The After School Programs operate Tues, Wed, and Thurs and are scheduled to end around 6:00 PM. Call your child's After School Program Coordinator to make contact with the bus driver after office hours as all schools have a two-way radio for safety.
