Anne Proctor Receives Governor's Award

Springfield Middle School attendance clerk Anne Proctor received the 2015 Governor’s Volunteer Stars Award for Robertson County, and was additionally recognized by county commissioners at their February meeting for her honor. 


According to the state: “The GVSA is an initiative from Volunteer Tennessee that seeks to recognize outstanding volunteers from each of Tennessee's 95 counties.  With the program now it its eighth year, participating counties conduct a call for nominations and recognize one outstanding youth and one outstanding adult volunteer.  Those named a 2015 Governor's Volunteer Star will gather in Franklin, TN on Sunday, February 28, 2016 to honor and celebrate volunteerism in Tennessee.”


Proctor was nominated by UT Extension Agent Kathy Finley, for her volunteer work with county 4-H programs and activities.  Her recognition by the County Commission included a proclamation declaring Tuesday, Feb. 23, as, “Anne Proctor Day,” in Robertson County.  She will receive her official award from the governor at the banquet on Sunday.
