District records growth in ACT scores

District records growth in ACT scores
Posted on 08/26/2015

In these latest results, each high school increased their percentage of students who reached all four of the college readiness benchmarks, and the district is poised to do better this year with more than 40 2016 seniors who have already met at least three of the college ready benchmarks, with more opportunities remaining in the coming year to take the test.

Two schools, East Robertson and Jo Byrns, increased their Composite Scores by a full point or more, and all schools increased their scores, while the state average remained unchanged.  East Robertson also showed the greatest increase in their percentage of students meeting all four college readiness benchmarks by moving from 8% to 17%, the second highest percentage recorded in the county.

In a press release, Director of Schools, Mike Davis, stated that, “The growth our high schools made on the ACT is helping our students become college and career ready and is very impressive.  Our continued goal is to have every school above the state average in both composite score as well as the percentage of students meeting all four college readiness benchmarks.”

Robertson County Schools celebrates the accomplishments of these students and their teachers, and continues in the path of helping all of our students to become more college and career ready.
