Dr. Emily Thompson has been names as Interim Assistant
Principal of White House Heritage High School following the resignation of Dr.
Chris Tucker.
Thompson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business
Administration and Marketing from the University of Tennessee in 2009 and a
master’s degree in Business Education from Middle Tennessee State University in
2011. She began teaching with Robertson
County Schools in August of that year and has served in three separate schools,
including WHHHS, over her teaching career.
She comes to her new responsibilities from Springfield High School where
she was the Response to Intervention Coordinator and Academic Coach.
Thompson expanded her educational qualifications; first in
2016 with an Education Specialist certification, and again in 2019 with a
Doctor of Education degree, both from Union University. She has worked extensively with the RTI program in several schools, coordinating responses
for students to help them gain or maintain scholastic skills.
Emily was raised in Springfield, where she attended school through 8th grade before finishing her high school career at Beech High School in Hendersonville. Husband, Kris, grew up in Adams and is a Jo Byrns graduate. Married for 7 years, they have two
children, 6 year-old Kennedy and Easton, who is two.
Assuming the responsibilities of an Assistant Principal is
something Thompson says she’s looking forward to, saying, “I am blessed and
very excited to join White House Heritage High School.”
Principal Kim Haas says she too, is looking forward to
January and is pleased with having Thompson on-board in her new capacity.
“I am excited to welcome Dr. Thompson to the Patriot Nation
as the new assistant principal at Heritage HS,” she said. “We are looking
forward to the many opportunities that having Dr. Thompson here will offer.”
