Region 5-3A football awards were announced on Monday, Dec. 7,  and White House Heritage Coach Pat Brown was voted as the 2015-2016 Coach of the Year by his peers.

Brown, a Springfield High School and MTSU graduate, took his team to a 9-4 record this year, finishing as a state quarter-finalist.  Of his 29 years of coaching, 14 of them have been at WHHHS.

“I feel very blessed to be associated with so many great young men and coaches who persevered and showed grit this year to have such a successful season,” he said of this year’s performance. “This group went undefeated in the 8th grade, made the play-offs 4 straight years, made the second round of the play-offs three years and went to the State Quarterfinals for the first time in school history.”

Brown’s assistant coach Scott Ballard rounded out the coaching awards; being names as the Assistant Coach of the Year by the district.

Ballard’s career has spanned a total of 25 years, the last three being at Heritage.  Prior to that, he was at Goodpasture in Nashville for 17 years, where he coached in four of his total of six state championship games.
