Lisa Cobb Honored By City of Springfield

Robertson County Schools Family-School Liaison Lisa Cobb was honored on Thursday, July 18, by Springfield Mayor Ann Schneider, as the inaugural recipient of the “Mayor’s Impact Award.”

Schneider presented the award, a plaque, and a proclamation declaring the day, “Lisa Cobb Day,” in Springfield, at the Chamber’s monthly “Good Morning Robertson County,” gathering.

Among other comments, Schneider called Cobb, “a servant of God who gives back to her community daily, regardless of race, age, and gender.”  She continued, noting Cobb has been, “the McKinney-Vento Liaison/Parent-School Liaison for over 10 years with Robertson County Schools.”

The presentation was a surprise to Cobb, who thought she was in attendance to assist RCS Director of Schools Chris Causey with data and information for a presentation.  She responded to the recognition saying she was simply overwhelmed at being singled out for the award.

“I am so humbled,” she said.  “I am speechless.”   “God has blessed me and I want to live as He wants me to live.  I couldn’t do this without a community like this.”

Congratulations to Lisa for the well-deserved recognition from the City of Springfield.  RCS is both proud and fortunate to have someone with the dedication, compassion, and commitment that she displays.
