Jill Reeves has been selected as the Principal/Early Learning Coordinator of Bransford Elementary School, replacing Harold Barbee, who retired at the end of the 2019-2020 school year.

Reeves has taught with Robertson County Schools since 1999, after graduating from The University of Tennessee at Martin.  She also holds a master’s degree from Cumberland University.   She began her career at Krisle Elementary and remained there until 2015 when she transferred to BES.  She has taught Pre K there until assuming this new responsibility.

Referring to the new position, Reeves said she is truly looking forward to interaction with the staff, students, and parents of BES.

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to be the principal and early learning coordinator at Bransford Elementary School,” she said. “Our school is unique, diverse, and alive. Bransford has always been the heartbeat of the neighborhoods that it serves in Springfield, and I look forward to helping our staff meet the needs of our children and families.”

Noting the unique status of the school, Reeves continued, saying,  “Our focus on early childhood education and Kindergarten readiness is important work that we take seriously, and we will work diligently to continue bringing excellent learning opportunities to children in our community."

With husband, Mark, Jill has two sons, students at Springfield High and Springfield Middle schools, respectively.  In her free time she enjoys running, reading, anything outdoors, and playing with the family pet, her yellow lab, Rocky.
