Retired University of Tennessee Extension Agent, Kathy
Finley was recognized and honored at the February 8, 2021 Robertson County
Schools monthly board meeting as a “Friend of Education,” to Robertson County.
Finley’s temporary role with the UT Extension Office in
assisting 4-H finished as a 31-year career, during which time she influenced countless
Robertson County students.
In awarding the honor to Finley, RCS Director Dr. Chris
Causey noted her commitment and zeal.
“It just seemed for the longest time, that everywhere you
turned, there was Kathy Finley and she was doing programs that benefitted so
many of our schools,” he said.
Noting the 4-H motto, “to make the best better,” Causey
stated, “I think you definitely have done that.”
Prior to her career with 4-H, Finley taught school with RCS during
the 1974-75, and 1975-76 school years at both Cedar Hill Elementary and Jo
Byrns.
