When a close friend challenged him to play soccer, Jonathan Vidrio had no idea that he’d be signing a scholarship just two years later with Martin Methodist College in Pulaski, Tennessee, to play that very sport.

Vidrio, a mid-fielder for Springfield, said he initially played club ball in Hendersonville where he earned an MVP award.  He has now played for SHS and is looking forward to playing for Martin Methodist beginning next school year. 3

Elizabeth Ramirez, Vidrio’s girlfriend, is in large part responsible for his success, according to Jonathan.

“If it wasn’t for her, I wouldn’t have kept my grades up and be where I am now,” he said.  As a result, due to her encouragement and his performance in the classroom and on the soccer field, Vidrio will be playing his favorite sport for four more years while pursuing a degree in accounting.
