Springfield High JROTC Earns National Distinguished Unit Recognition
Posted on 05/07/2020

Springfield High School Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Major Dale Lightfoot sent the following information  in a letter to Robertson County Schools Director Chris Causey.

It is with great pride I pass along the terrific news that our unit is recognized by HQ AFJROTC as a DISTINGUISHED UNIT for school year 2019-2020. This is the 3rd time the unit has earned this recognition in the last 4 years and is the highest award possible to receive in a non-accreditation year.

The cadets completed over 3,000 community service hours, 3 cadets earned ROTC scholarships, 5 enlisted in the military and MSgt Holland was the Tennessee VFW Teacher of the Year.

Next year we bring on CMSgt Nation, will have around 200 cadets and try to top this...our task is tall, but our objective remains the same: Excellence in ALL WE do!
