Springfield High School welcomes three new assistant principals to staff positions for the 2022-2023 school year, making a total of four AP’s in the school now.

Dr. Krishenna Jackson comes to the school from Metro Nashville schools where she has taught since 2004.  She earned her Bachelor of Arts & Science at Tennessee State University in 2002, and culminated her education with a Doctor of Education degree from Trevecca Nazarene University in 2014.

Jackson is looking forward to relocating to Robertson County, saying, “I am very excited to be joining the administrative team at Springfield High School. In creating genuine relationships with the students, I hope to aid them in getting their ‘why’ answered, so they can move into the ‘how’ which establishes the foundation of their adult lives.”

Arielle Dyer and Hanna Thomas were both teachers at SHS before assuming their new positions as assistant principals.

Dyer earned her BS degree from East Carolina University in 2005 and has added two Master’s degrees, the most recent being her Master of Education from TSU in 2021.  She has 17 years of education experience, has taught at SHS since 2017, and rounded out her career serving in numerous extra-curricular positions.

Thomas began teaching with RCS in 2011 after earning her BA at UT Knoxville in 2010.  Since then, she’s added a Master’s degree and Education Specialist credentials, both from Austin Peay State University.  She has worked with more than 200 students in the Innovation Academy program, where she has served as Coordinator since 2019.

In response to her selection for her new position she said, “I am honored and humbled to work with the students, staff, and community of Springfield High School in this new role.  As a 2007 alumna, it feels surreal to be able to give back to the school that gave so much to me.  There are great things that come from our building, and our staff makes those things possible.  I look forward to serving each day with Yellow Jacket Pride for our past, present, and our future.”

Dr. Chris Tucker, principal of SHS is justifiably proud of these new members of his new administrative team, offering the following comments:

“Ms. Thomas brings extensive knowledge of the Springfield community and our school culture and climate to our team. She is well-respected among her peers. Ms. Thomas has shown an unwavering commitment to SHS and brings extensive institutional knowledge to our team.

Ms. Dyer has served in various leadership roles during her tenure at Springfield High School. She is well-versed in various sources of data and proficient in operations and logistics. She brings a variety of skill-sets to the table.

Dr. Jackson brings broad experience in instructional leadership, community engagement, and behavior interventions. Her wide range of experiences will serve as an asset to our school community.”
