Four Watauga Elementary School students won the Central Region 4-H Clover Bowl in Cookeville today, Wednesday, May 18.  Entered in the fourth grade competition, the quartet bested 15 other districts in the Central Region meet.  Elijah Harper, Samantha Ellathorpe, Caroline Moles and Brighton Gregg are all members of Ms. Justice’s fourth grade class.

The group initially won their county competition in April, qualifying them for the regional meet.  They were asked a series of questions from a base list on the four topics of: Tennessee History, Family & Consumer Sciences, Agriculture and 4-H.

According to 4-H, The Clover Bowl is a 4-H fun competition, “to acquaint 4-H members with themselves and their surroundings through participating in an enjoyable and educational program. In addition to this main purpose, it is hoped that this program will help participants develop leadership, teamwork and communication skills.”
