White House Heritage Graduates Class of 2016

One-hundred-and-fifty-four seniors received 1their diplomas at the White House Heritage High School afternoon graduation ceremonies on Sunday, May 22.

Valedictorian Sarah Steward and Salutatorian Katelynn Logsdon each took their opportunity to reminisce over their collective high school career and to challenge their fellow-graduates to bigger and better things.

Commencement speaker, Laren Sanders Patterson, herself a product of WHHHS, challenged the grads to qualities of character as they look to their collective future.  A recent Summa Cum Laude graduate from Western Kentucky University, she has completed a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and is currently a full time graduate student and dietetic intern through Iowa State University.

The Heritage graduating class of 2016 set some impressive scholastic benchmarks. They exceeded all previous levels of total scholarship awards with $2.7 million awarded, surpassing their goal of $1.9 million.   The ACT average for the group’s top 10% is 27.5, reflecting well on their achievement and potential for further success.

Seventy-seven percent of these grads will go on to pursue a post-secondary degree, and two are joining the armed forces.
