Below you will find documents and a detailed outline of the Collaborative/Middle College experience for Robertson County Students. 

The Austin Peay Dual Collaborative is a program offered to rising junior and senior students in Robertson County. Classes are held at Highland Crest during the school year and on campus at APSU during the summer. Students have the option of earning an associates degree and a high school diploma simultaneously or just getting multiple hours of core college requirements completed while in high school.

Option One: School year only program

In this option, students take 2-3 classes each semester at Highland Crest during the school year. Transportation is provided from the school of enrollment to Highland Crest each morning and students return to school in time for lunch and take their final two classes of the day at the school of enrollment. Students normally get credit for the following high school requirements: junior and senior English, at least one college math requirement, US History and Government/Economics. Students also have the choice on several elective courses. Depending on the number of classes taken, the cost will vary. The first 4 classes are free through the Dual Enrollment Grant provided by the state of Tennessee.


Option Two: Year Round Associates Degree Program

In this option, students are required to take summer classes at APSU. The student will enroll in 9-12 hours (3-4 classes) each semester beginning the summer prior to their junior year for a total of 60 credit hours prior to graduation. Students will take online and in person classes each semester and earn an associates degree when they graduate from high school. Transportation will be provided from a central location in Springfield to APSU during the summer months. Total cost of the associates degree with this option is $6,234. Student will earn the following high school credits: junior and senior English, at least one math credit, US History, Government, Economics, Personal Finance, Chemistry, Fine Art
